The biweekly Automotive Aftermarket Manufacturing Companies Survey moderated for a second consecutive time in early March. Promotions increased while both maintenance and discretionary products softened; failure products held steady. Regionally, orders continue to be strong in the Northeast, while demand is soft in the West and Southwest.
The latest Automotive Aftermarket Manufacturing Companies Survey report is now available for download. An exclusive “AASA Supplier Essentials” feature, this report is published regularly by AASA and Evercore ISI.
The Automotive Aftermarket Manufacturing Companies Survey monitors the demand for automotive aftermarket parts and gives AASA members more timely information on “how’s business” for suppliers than was available previously in the aftermarket.
AASA Supplier Essentials Editor’s Note: This survey is based on a sample set of suppliers conducted every two weeks that monitors the demand for automotive aftermarket parts; therefore, it can contain some volatility.
The “Automotive Aftermarket Manufacturing Companies Survey” was created at the request of AASA supplier member companies for more timely insight into market trends. It provides a “snapshot” of the industry with valuable new market data. The survey and report track key topical business concerns such as:
- Weekly strength of U.S. order demand for aftermarket parts
- Demand by high-level category (maintenance, replacement, etc.)
- Levels of promotions and incentives: above or below average
- Strength and weakness of U.S. regional demand
The “Automotive Aftermarket Manufacturing Companies Survey” report is based on a survey of a sample set of major aftermarket manufacturers. Survey participants receive the report earlier as an incentive for their efforts in collecting the data.
