Alibaba, Amazon and eBay Motors to Take the Stage at the AASA Aftermarket IP Forum on Aug. 15 in Dearborn, Mich.

Representatives from three of the largest online marketplaces will address online brand protection at the aftermarket’s first industrywide IP event hosted by AASA and its partner organizations
 
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – A representative of global mega-online marketplace Alibaba will join representatives from Amazon and eBay Motors to discuss online brand protection at the 2019 Aftermarket IP Forum, hosted by the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) and its partnering organizations. The event is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Ford Conference & Events Center in Dearborn, Mich.
 
“As aftermarket suppliers grow their businesses in ‘the new retail’ digital aftermarket, greater business opportunities also increase potential for IP violations and damage to suppliers’ brands and sales,” said Chris Gardner, AASA senior vice president. “Having representatives from three of the leading global online marketplaces at the first-ever Aftermarket IP Forum will allow our attendees to hear first-hand about their strategies and tools for protecting brands and brand IP at their sites, and provide key take-aways for participants to develop protections for their brands and products.”
 
Patrick Huntley, global brand protection manager, FCA Security Operations, and member of Automotive Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition (A2C2), will moderate the discussion among the panelists: Kaleigh Miller, global relations manager, Amazon; Jordan Hettinga, senior director and general manager, motors parts and accessories, eBay; and a representative of Alibaba.
