Patricia Mooradian has been President and CEO of The Henry Ford since 2005 and has 35 years of experience in the real estate, retail, and attraction industries. As the first female CEO in its 90-year history, she has led the transformation of The Henry Ford from a locally known attraction to an acclaimed world class destination attracting 1.8 million visitors annually. She is a widely recognized strategist known for her expertise in developing consumer experiences and brands, designing internal business systems and processes, building high performing teams, creating award winning digital and traditional marketing strategies, cultivating a service-oriented culture, and enhancing the board governance structure. Mooradian has significant experience in dealing with the media and is a proficient public speaker having delivered numerous keynote addresses.
Mooradian was hired to bring her business acumen to the nonprofit institution. Her responsibility for the 250-acre campus enterprise includes its unparalleled collection, five venues, eight restaurants, six retail stores, a large catering operation, a public charter high school, Henry Ford Academy, and two national television series, the two-time Emmy award-winning The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation and Did I Mention Invention?
She established the institution’s innovation platform and is credited for creating consumer experiences and connecting them to audiences both in person and online. She led the establishment of proprietary digital and educational platforms, currently being used by leading national partners in developing innovative curriculum products.
An accomplished fundraiser, Mooradian is heavily networked with the CEOs of many Fortune 500 companies as well as some of the largest foundations in the world and has raised over $180 million during her tenure. A results-driven leader, she has increased the institution’s attendance by 43 percent and the annual revenue by 116 percent while growing the endowment by over 73 percent. As a passionate advocate for helping others realize their potential, she spends time coaching the next generation for future leadership positions.
Prior to her role at The Henry Ford, Mooradian was regional director of marketing for 13 years at The Taubman Company, a shopping center developer and real estate company where she drove the marketing, strategic positioning and growth for over 18 destination shopping centers nationwide.
Currently, Mooradian is a director for Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company and recently completed her position as director for Crestmark Bank which sold to Meta Bank in 2018. She also serves on the boards of National Arts Strategies, the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Detroit Convention and Visitors Bureau. Mooradian has held two Governor appointed positions: one term on Central MI University’s Board of Trustees and two terms as a Travel Commissioner for Travel MI. As Chair of the Commissioners, she led the development of the state’s first strategic plan for tourism resulting in the award-winning Pure MI tourism campaign, transforming the state’s tourism brand and contributing to the economic resurgence of the state. Additionally, she served for nine years on the board of Henry Ford Hospital and Medical Group.
Mooradian has won numerous awards including Crain’s “100 Top Women” Award, DBusiness “Powered by Women” Award, Corp’s Most Valuable Professional Award, the YWCA’s Women of Achievement Award, Leadership in Independent and Social Responsibility Award, as well as two national daytime Emmy Awards and numerous Parent’s Choice awards for The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation which airs weekly on CBS.
