MANN+HUMMEL


Mr. Charles Vaillant serves as the Chief Technology Officer of MANN+HUMMEL, where he is responsible for innovation, new technology research, corporate strategy, digitalization and corporate ventures.  He joined MANN+HUMMEL in 1997 and has held a variety of positions in the areas of program management, design & development, product engineering and corporate development. As Chief Technology Officer, Charles leads MANN+HUMMEL’s North Carolina Innovation Center (NCIC) in Raleigh, NC.
 
In 2015 Charles established a start-up company, i2m LLC, in Raleigh North Carolina, to accelerate the commercialization of new MANN+HUMMEL technologies in the fields of clean air, clean water, energy and life science. During 2016 he created the first IoT Lab (Internet of Things) in Singapore to advance the digitalization of filtration products.  Later in 2016 Charles launched MANN+HUMMEL Corporate Ventures, an initiative to make strategic investments in Technology Start-ups, with a focus on Silicon Valley.  From this focus, his team brought to market the first IoT solution for air filter and maintenance remote monitoring.  To embrace the entrepreneurial spirit in innovation, Charles implemented InCube in 2018, which is a one-of-kind program enabling M+H employees to work in Silicon Valley to create and advance new digital business solutions.  Most recently, Charles launched i2m GmbH to develop and commercialize breakthrough technologies for stationary energy storage solutions with a focus on renewal energies and EV (electric vehicles) fast-charging stations.
 
Charles earned an Automotive Engineering degree from LTR Eiffel (France), a Master’s degree in Industrial Marketing from ESIDEC (France) and an M.B.A from the University of Michigan Ross Business School (USA).  He lives with his wife and two daughters in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA.
